Elizabeth Hurley in a saree and Gwen Paltrow in a dress

This is an interesting iconic picture; just wanted to share it with you.
Don’t get in to trap of comparing who looks prettier; they are both beautiful women.

Every once in a while, you have to go “you’re not really wearing that!”. This time it is Mandira Bedi, taking an okay looking sari, and trashing it with an uncoordinated blouse, and totally beating it into the ground with a pair of ugliest earrings you ever saw! The Bandhni sari, which is otherwise a reasonable combination of pink and orange, is horrendously paired with a silver halter neck blouse. This is topped off with a pair of hoop earrings which look like they were made from the left over sequins from another sari. So what do you get for the woman who has all the clothes in the world? Will if it’s Mandira Bedi on a bad sari day, you get her a mirror!

I hate this saree. Just wanted to get that out my system.
I don’t like the blue/green thing, I don’t like the way it is tapered, I don’t like the choker, I don’t like the border.
Then why am I showing this to you? Because the only redeeming quality of this saree is the inters ting blouse. It’s not that I haven’t seen these blouses before, I have; but here it just seems more harmonized.
There are some interesting pieces in Richika Modi’s collection, most of them are a little too rich (in colors or in design) for my taste but they are eye catching.
