Wordless Wednesday : wet body and dry saree

It’s Wednesday; let the saree do all the talking in the picture.

Deepika Padukone in a statuesque “sari” gown

This is one of those artistic compositions that looks flawless from every angle. Deepika sports a sculpted Grecian look in an asymmetric off one shoulder gown which has an additional piece wrapped to look like the pallu of a sari.

The accessories are perfectly balanced from the metal pearl drop earrings, to the brooch perched on the right side, to the chain belt and the metallic cloisonne look purse. A cascading striped scarf on the left side adds a touch of whimsy, as do the oversized finger rings.

Saree with matching bangles/bracelet mumaith Khan

Just wanted to point out the matching bracelet with the saree example.

This looks specifically designed for the saree and it does add certain completeness to the outfit. mumaith Khan looks great!

A blue saree to take your blues away

Sort of reminds me of Web 2.0, gradient color scheme that is in fashion all around us.

The key parameters of a good gradient saree works are the starting color, end color and how fast the gradient change. This one might have additional complexity because it might be a double color saree.

The model looks nice in it, but I would hesitate in designing a saree like this. The gradient adds certain directionality to the clothing and that’s not always a welcome thing.
