We have always maintained that Aishwarya is the epitome of simple elegance. She wears perfect clothes, and accessorizes intelligently. So is it possible for Aishwarya to look dumpy? Apparently so!

At the Cannes festival Aishwarya showed up with husband Abhishek Bacchan, in a badly fitting white gown. We thought it was the angle, but nope - it looks ugly from every side.

So Ash, next time find the best designer or just pick a sari from your closet. We know you have the best selection!

UPDATE: I wished I could say that an Indian saree retailer used an “Indian” mannequin; alas, that was not to be! These mannequins were used by Macy when they showcased all things Indian.

Ok, my skills of playing music are limited to turning the “on/off” button on my ipod, but when I see a saree design like this, I feel like drumming.

Really nice. Not very bright “in your face” kind of design, but an elegant musical theme.

Let’s just say she looks confounding. Not sure about the ear jewelry and have a bad feeling about the sachet she is carrying, but I must say that I would pause to admire her grace.
