Aishwarya Rai in a blue benarasi in a still from Devdas
In a hauntingly evocative still from the movie Devdas, Aishwarya Rai poses in a heavy blue Benarasi sari, with heavy jewelry reminiscent of times past.

The blue Benarasi silk sari is heavily embroidered and embellished with beads and stones. The sari is worn Bengali style, along with a long sleeve blouse that is embroidered along the neckline, and has heavy embroidery on the sleeves.
The jewelry is historically authentic, with five necklaces, two sets of anklets and many, many bangles and bracelets. Aishwarya is even wearing a triple ring on each on her middle fingers, and the typical ornate “chabi gucchho” - key ring on her pallu.

Polka Pop Saree: Watch the blouse

From Satya Paul: Georgette jacquard print sari, embellished with hand embroidery. Unstitched blouse piece with embroidery to match.
Watch the interesting blouse; the strap is an embroidered piece that matches with the design of the saree.
OK, you may skip the oversized earrings ![]()
Is it a bindi or is it fire?
So sweet, and so adorable; impractical, but attractive nonetheless.

Do you think Bindi mash-up is an accident or is it designed and drawn as fire?
Believe me, nothing is an accident in these design shows. I like it, but I see that it is, alas, it is unwieldly.
