strapless saree blouse

This is from 2007 bridal collection, but in many ways the blouse design is timeless.
In fact, the color combinations are directly from a design text book and have been implemented well.

A jamevar cream saree with scallop embroidered rust tissue borders with cut worked in gold zardosi, red resham and sequins worn with a short ornate tissue choli.
From the sheetal group.
The scallop embroidery is not something that I particularly enjoy handling. Especially when the it is “even”. The design is all about crafting and molding the even-ness in to pleasing look. I am sure, you can tell here that the scalopping at the shoulder doesn’t add grace and completeness to the woman in the picture.
But as I said, Bridal design is different. Sometimes you like it not because it is the best, not because it makes you look the best, but because it is so ornate that it makes the “day” look good.

Examples of Chanderi Saree. Both of these sari were made in the town of Chanderi. Notice the famous gossamer quality of the fabric.
To see the Chanderi’s involvement in the First Rebellion of 1857, please see Sepoy Mutiny Blog. On this day, exactly 150 years ago, Chanderi was under attack by the Brisith.
I wonder who won?
