Saree Mannequins - Macy’s

This looks absolutely delightful.
Do you know where this is from?
It is from “Imagine India” organized by Macy’s!
That somewhat explains the elegance of it. I think the Indian retailers have not gotten to this level of sophistication yet. They will, in a few years, but they are not there yet!
Nisha Sagar’s blue beauty saree

A blue beauty; (almost) strapless blouse, large choker, and embroidered border - really nice! It keeps the focus on the person and as it happens with so many sarees, all you see is a saree and not the person.
Hema Malini also walked the ramp for Nisha Sagar’s collection. I will post some pictures of it soon.
skin baring blouse design by Neeta

An interesting design for a blouse. Will go better with a lehnga, but might also work for a contemporary saree.
A stunning Saree picture from Sari Workshop in Jaipur

This is so beautiful, alluring and exquisite! I’ll let you figure out what the perspective of the image is.
Is it the Karntaka Silk or is it Deepika Govind?
I have always loved Deepika Govind’s designs - full of color, sometimes overflowing with colors and always exciting.
Karnataka Silk industries and Deepika Govind created “Threads of Gold”, a unique collection of ethereal bridal saris. All the saris have double-sided designs, which means the insides of the saris are just as gorgeous as the outer side.

Pink saree with gold buttas and a gold pallu embellished with crystals.
Nothing compares to silk! One can’t get the richness, texture, depth and approachability that silk can give.
MonaLisa, way too much make up and uninspiring saree
OK, would you prefer a green instead?
This saree and the whole ensemble has everything; the colors are classic, the drape is prefect, the blouse is matching, there are plenty of same tinctured bangles, the jewelry is right and traditional, but sigh… it is uninspiring.
This is something that you wear when you visit your in-laws for a religious function. Well.. almost, you would probably put on much less makeup.
