Satya Paul Sarees - distinctive as always : Sayali Bagat demonstrates

satya_paul_sayali_bhagat_saree

Sayali Bhagat modeling an orange and black combination.

I love the blouse, print is interesting and distinctive but I don’t understand the neckware.

I am also begining to worry that the Satya Paul designs are getting so distinctive and so out of ordinary, that they are taking away from the person wearing the sarees. More on it at some other time.

Let us just enjoy his collection for now.

Neha Dhupia in blue contemporary saree

Even the contrasting blouse theme is getting old for me. It’s like the designs are being rehashed.

Please don’t design by numbers. Step 1, take an old saree design; step 2, add a silver/gold/contrasting color border to it; step 3, let the blouse match with the border color.

Sigh..

yana gupta is a saree - hate the matching purse

yana_gupta_saree

I have never liked these silly matching purse thing. One looks like a caricature rather than sophisticated.

I totally love this saree and the composition (except for the green border)

tabu_red_saree

This photo composition is great! the broom, no shoes, the attitude, the pose - its all perfect. I just don’t understand the green frill though.

Katrina kaif red saree

katrina Kaif_red_saree

Katrina Kaif is a perfect saree model!

Not sure about the blue line around the border - sort of looks contrived. The combination looks forced with the blouse that matches more of the border then the inherent colors of the saree!

White and orange saree and a gorgeous model to show it off

white_orange_saree

I really like this saree, the subtle hint of orange, without detracting from the white of the saree, light pink and orange mirror work and spaghetti strap blouse - it all adds up to a nice number.

Butterfly saree with a wristband - the saree flows with you.

butterfly saree_with_wristband

This is an concept that I have been watching for a while. Sort of similar to the butterfly sarees.

The correct way to think of the wristband is not to consider it as confining. Supposing you were wearing a gown; you would have full sleeves - now remove the sleeves and retain only the cuffs and thats what this wristband is.

You lose some support but you get some flow and the saree moves with you.

The other part of the design has interesting components to it. the belt, the flowing embroidery and the thin border. Overall it is too busy but as a design it works for me.

This one is from SareeWorld.

Helen Brodie in a faux saree

helen_brodie_faux_saree

I am pretty sure this is a faux saree- I’ll have to ask an expert.

I like the lacey look to it but I think the golden blouse looks so odd with the saree.
